Nickle is one of the most used chemical element that has a number of uses and hence, the importance of this metal is also increased with the uses. The nickel is known for its chemical properties and hence, in modern days there is hardly any industry where nickel is not used. Nickel Oxide can be prepared by multiple methods. The chemical symbol of this metal is NIO.

Nickel powder reacts with oxygen to give NIO. Nickel oxide powder was used to make rechargeable batteries found in many electronic devices earlier, until the development of the environmentally superior NiMH Battery.

Long term inhalation of NIO is damaging to the lungs and can cause cancer also.NIO has a variety of specialized applications and generally applications distinguish between “chemical”, which is relatively pure material for specialty applications, and “metallurgical grade”, which is mainly used for the production of alloys. It is used in the ceramic industry to make frits, ferrites, and porcelain glazes. The sintered oxide is used to produce nickel steel alloys.

The Availability of Nickel Oxide powder

Nickel, with a symbol of Ni, is a silvery shiny, metallic element with an atomic number of 28. It can be hammered into thin sheets, which means it is malleable. Nickel, iron and cobalt are the only three elements known to be Ferro-magnetic. Of the three, nickel is the least magnetic. Nickel is also important for the proper function of some enzymes in both plants and animals. Oats and other whole grains are also an excellent source of Nickel.
